The Glow-Worm

Sheet music for solo piano: Paul Lincke’s Glow-Worm (original German title Glühwürmchen-Idyll) from the operetta Lysistrata (1902) counts among the most beloved salon pieces of its time. In Tempo di Gavotte, a catchy, playful melody unfolds with nostalgic charm: delicate, airy and dreamy, like the small scene from nature the original title describes.

This solo piano edition in E-flat major is aimed at pianists of intermediate level and offers a lovely opportunity to work on phrasing and tonal color. The 67 bars call for a refined, sensitive touch and invite you to bring out the special character of the piece.
