„Weinfest in Böhmen“ – Quartett-Serie

Bohemian polka for brass quartet

Weinfest in Böhmen is a lively Bohemian polka in A-flat major (2/4) for small brass ensemble. Instead of a full concert-band score, this is a light quartet version — the typical sound of Bohemian wind music with flugelhorn, tenor horn, trombone and tuba.

The series is for quartets, mobile groups and players who want polka sheet music for wine festivals, village fêtes, morning concerts or weddings, and need flexible parts in C or B-flat.

Three scores, one scoring idea

Flugelhorn plus tenor horn, trombone and tuba — in different transpositions:

• Flugelhorn · tenor horn in C · trombone in C · tuba in C
• Flugelhorn · tenor horn in B-flat · trombone in B-flat · tuba in B-flat
• Flugelhorn · tenor horn in B-flat · trombone in C · tuba

Separate parts to swap

Tenor horn in C / B-flat · trombone in C / B-flat · tuba in C / B-flat

The polka stays playable if someone brings tenor horn instead of baritone, a B-flat trombone instead of C, or a B-flat tuba instead of C. The melody sits clearly; the writing is easy to learn without major technical hurdles.

For anyone who wants Bohemian polkas not only in a full wind band, but as a brass quartet.
