The Glow-Worm

Sheet music for voice and piano: Paul Lincke’s Glow-Worm (original German title Glühwürmchen-Idyll) from the operetta Lysistrata (1902) counts among the most beloved salon pieces of its time. In Tempo di Gavotte, a catchy, playful melody unfolds with nostalgic charm: light, delicate and dreamy, like the small scene from nature the title describes.

This version for voice and piano accompaniment in E-flat major is aimed at singers and pianists of intermediate level and offers a lovely opportunity to work together on phrasing and tonal color. The 67 bars call for a refined, sensitive touch at the piano and invite you to bring out the special character of the piece.
