“Who Am I” is a thoughtful piano piece. It unfolds in an atmospheric, melancholic way: delicate and sensitive. Motion shifts constantly between the right and left hand. Ostinati express in sound: I am, and I remain myself. Some things repeat themselves, then gradually transform and develop. This edition captures the essence of the original from the album „Longing“ by Christiane Dehmer – without the kalimba & synth colors of the recording, yet with all its vitality and beauty. Some passages include the original solo improvisations. Pianists who enjoy improvising can create their own solos, guided by the chord symbols. Christiane Dehmer is a pianist, singer, and composer. Her music unites Pop and Jazz, shaped by a deep passion for the piano and the freedom of improvisation. After extensive music studies (Jazz piano, song accompaniment & piano improvisation), she has been publishing her works, performing in concerts, and teaching at the University of Music Würzburg.
